This morning on
The View, the hosts announced the nominees for the 35th Annual Daytime Entertainment
Emmy Awards. Stars from
All My Children,
Days of our Lives,
One Life To Live,
Guiding Light, and
As the World Turns were on hand to present the nominations. Noticeably missing from the morning's festivities were cast members from
General Hospital, who were overlooked in several of the acting categories. The View scored a nomination for Outstanding Talk Show Hosts, among others. The Daytime Emmy Awards will air June 20th on ABC at 8pm ET from Hollywood's Kodak Theater. At the ceremony, Regis Philbin will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.

I dont' think Tony Geary should have been nominated this year. He was barely on and the heart attack scene...

GH WASNT ROBBED JUST TO MANY OVERRATED STARS LIKE KELLY MONACO ARE RUINING THE SHOW.
General Hospital's Anthony Geary (Luke Spencer) was the only actor from the show to be nominated for an Emmy this year. In the category of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, he will go up against
David Canary (Adam and Stuart Chandler) of
All My Children,
Thaao Penghlis (Tony and Andre DiMera) of
Days of Our Lives, and
Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott) and
Christian LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin) of
The Young and The Restless.
The following women were nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series:
Maura West (Carly Tenney) of
As The World Turns,
Crystal Chappell (Olivia Spencer) and
Nicole Forester (Cassie Layne Winslow) of
Guiding Light, and
Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers) and
Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor) of
The Young And The Restless.
In all things not related to soaps, in the category of Oustanding Talk Show, the ladies of
The View will go up against
Ellen DeGeneres and Rachael Ray.
Cash Cab,
Jeopardy, and
The Price Is Right will battle for Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show.
CBS scored the most nominations, with 56. ABC raked in 39, while NBC brought in 14.
The Young and The Restless received 17 nominations, the most of any soap, while
General Hospital received the least, with 6.
