Kent Masters King, who was born on August 5, 1974 in Los Angeles, California, launched her career by playing Julie Williams on the primetime soap opera, Knots Landing in 1988. In 2000, she briefly filled the role of Victoria Rowell in The Young and the Restless. In 2003, she appeared as the mysterious and beautiful Imani in Port Charles and in 2005, she landed the recurring role of Dr. Lainey Winters on General Hospital. Her other television credits include All of Us, The Parkers, The Steve Harvey Show, Smart Guy and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Her film credits include Aftermath, The Hillside Strangler, Malibooty, and Johnny B Good.

Dr. Lainey Winters is played by Kent King on the soap opera, General Hospital. Lainey was in a relationship with Justus Ward when he was murdered in 2006. She currently lives with Dr. Kelly Lee in Courtney Matthews' old apartment.
