John J. York, who was born on December 10, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois, is an actor who appeared in numerous television shows such as Dynasty, Family Ties, and 21 Jump Street. He is most known for playing Malcolm Scorpio in the daytime soap opera, General Hospital. His other television credits include Clueless,

Malcolm "Mac" Scorpio is played by John J. York on ABC's soap opera, General Hospital. Originally hailing from Australia, Mac is the brother of Robert Scorpio. At first, the two were estranged until they were able to reconcile and rebuild their relationship. Mac was then given the responsibility to raise Robert's daughter, Robin, when her parents were presumed to be dead. Because of this sudden guardianship, Mac was forced to leave his old adventurous ways and become a responsible citizen for his niece. He managed a night club called The Outback and later became a police commissioner in Port Charles, taking over his brother's former job. He was able to raise Robin, keeping her away from nasty men and helping her get through her ordeal when she found out she had HIV. Mac later fell in love and married Felicia Jones and raised her two daughters, Maxie and Georgie as his own. Although Felicia slept with another man who fathered Georgie, he still looked out for her as if she was his own.
