In the soap world, nothing is definite as the dead may come back even in the most odd circumstances. That fittingly applies to
Natalia Livingston, whose character Emily died and yet remained on the series for almost a year. And now that the 32-year-old actress has officially left
General Hospital, speculations have emerged about her possible return to Port Charles.
"I already have the story in mind" show head writer Robert Guza, Jr. told
Soap Opera Digest in the May 13 issue should the actress decide to return to
General Hospital.

Livingston joined
General Hospital in April 2003, taking the role of Emily from original portrayer Amber Tamblyn (
Joan of Arcadia). Though her character had several colorful storylines and forged many relationships, her death (and after death reappearance) was arguably considered her most momentous plot.
Last year, Emily met her horrific end at the Black and White Ball. She was strangled to death and her murder suspects included Nikolas (
Tyler Christopher), Zaccharra (Bruce Weitz), and Coop Barrett. However, residents of Port Charles eventually learned that Emily was, in fact, the second victim claimed by Diego Alcazar, as the Text Message Killer.
After her death, Emily came to Nikolas. Her disbelief at being dead led viewers to believe that she was a ghost. Later, however, it was revealed that she was a hallucination brought on by a tumor in Nikolas' brain.
Emily lingered on the series, disembodied and floating around Nicholas for some time until Nickolas finally decided to let Emily go. They shared their last dance in the ballroom where Emily died and a montage was shown of all the things that happened between them over the years.
On yesterday's episode of
General Hospital, Nikolas said his final goodbye to Emily right before he went through surgery and fans saw what seems to be the last of Natalia Livingston.
