General Hospital will soon welcome yet another "aged kid" in Port Charles. Following the recast of Michael Corinthos (Dylan Cash was replaced by Drew Garrett), Kristina Corinthos-Davis is expected to resurface with daytime newcomer Lexi Ainsworth as her portrayer. According to Soap Opera Digest, the 16-year-old actress will make her General Hospital debut on Thursday, June 4.
To refresh your memory, Kristina Corinthos-Davis was the product of a one-night-stand between Alexis Davis and her then client Sonny Corinthos. At the time, Alexis was engaged to Ned Ashton and decided to pretend he was the father. Sonny's wife Carly, on the other hand, knew the truth but decided to keep it a secret. When the two divorced, Sonny finally found out the truth. In due course, Kristina was diagnosed with Aplastic anemia and Alexis pressured Sam McCall, who is pregnant by Sonny, to have her unborn child tested as a bone marrow donor. Kristina eventually got her bone marrow but Sam had a miscarriage and blamed Alexis for this. Later, however, Sam learned that she is Alexis' daughter and subsequently, Sam formed a close bond with Kristina. In November 2006, Kristina witnessed Sam shoot Diego Alcazar and went into a comatose like trance for weeks due to her trauma. She then recovered and was last reported to be attending the Winston Academy.
So what can viewers expect with the return of Kristina? "Feisty" is a safe bet considering she's the daughter of the town's leading mobster and crack district attorney. Kristina is first spotted tailing Jason but Steve Burton isn't quite sure if it's because of a crush.
"I don't know if I'd call it a crush," Burton said. "I don't really know what it is. She's 16 years old in real life but she looks like she's about two [laughs]. But she's raising hell and Michael's digging her. He looks at her and sees what he possibly missed out on in the last year." -Kris De Leon, BuddyTV Staff Columnist
