A&E has yet to announce the premiere date for the third season of
Gene Simmons Family Jewels, but show star
Gene Simmons believes fans will not be disappointed with the upcoming installments.
“Started off day viewing some new
Gene Simmons Family Jewels edited shows,” the reality star posted on his official website. “We think you'll get a kick out of them. Lots of fun. We have 34 new shows coming!!!”
One of the new episodes will feature the roast held in Gene Simmons honor last year. On Friday, Simmons discussed the episode a little bit, as well as his unexpected firing from NBC's
The Apprentice: Celebrity Edition, with comedian and talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. Simmons also talked about
Ladies of the Night, a book that he is currently working on and is due out late spring.
“[It's a] historical and personal perspective of the oldest profession in the world,” Gene Simmons told Kimmel, referring to prostitution. “It's going to be through the brothels of Europe, courtesans of Europe's Renaissance period and the geishas of Japan, and yes, even the new testament, Mary Magdalene, who walked right behind Jesus.”
The book's tone, Simmons said, is going to be about “empowering women,” noting that women should not turn to men when it comes to figuring out their sexuality.
“If you want to charge for it, you should charge for it,” he said. “I'm happy to pay for it, by the way, because every man might say, ‘Do you love me?' but women very comfortably say, ‘How much do you love me?”
The day after his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, Gene Simmons and his family filmed “hilarious” promotional material for the third season of
Family Jewels, which the rock star claims will premiere in “2 or 3 months.” After filming the promos, they celebrated his son and show costar
Nick Tweed-Simmons' 19th birthday with a bowling party.
