In case you haven’t heard,
Gene Simmons, KISS co-founder and star of the reality series
Gene Simmons Family Jewels, has come up with a book called
Ladies of the Night: A Historical and Personal Perspective on the Oldest Profession in the World, which is described as a surprisingly classy examination of the oldest profession.
Following the successful release of
Kiss and Make-Up and
Sex, Money, Kiss, Gene Simmons explores the controversial world of prostitution by giving his outrageous insights and analyzing the history, necessity and the future of the sex industry.
Simmons claims he has never paid for prostitution, but he certainly has a lot to say on the subject. In an interview with portfolio.com, the
Family Jewels star gives his take on the subject of his new book.
“Well, it's really not [about appreciation for position]. I neither condemn it nor condone it, you know what I mean? It simply is. I have a fascination with it, and you can take a few different points of view about it. One that it's despicable and so on and you can take a puritanical point of view,” Simmons told portfolio.com.
“And that what goes on behind closed doors between consenting adults is nobody's f*cking business is my point of view, and that what everybody else has to say about it is besides the point,” he added.
Meanwhile, Simmons and the rest of his family are preparing for the new season of
Gene Simmons Family Jewels.
“We start shooting the fourth season in July or August,” Simmons revealed.
Family Jewels and
Ladies of the Night are just a few of the many projects of Gene Simmons.
“Well, it's millions and millions, but I don't want to talk about that because A&E is my partner. We also have a cartoon show on Nickelodeon called
My Dad the Rock Star, a comic-book company called Simmons Comics,” Simmons added.
