Game of Thrones season 2 begins Sunday, April 1 at 9pm on HBO, and only a fool wouldn't be excited. The epic fantasy series became one of the most addictive shows in 2011, and season 2 promises to be even more thrilling.

The newest promo for Game of Thrones features a number of new scenes from season 2, all of which promise to deliver the kind of action and drama fans have come to expect. Enjoy.

"A Very Small Man Can Cast a Very Large Shadow," Varys

If anything suggests the inevitable rise to power of Tyrion Lannister, it's this opening quote from the eunuch on the King's council. In many ways, it's the mission statement of Game of Thrones, proving that power comes from the unlikeliest places, be it the dwarf mocked by his family, the bastard son of Ned Stark, or the seemingly useless blonde daughter of the former king.

"Killing You Would Send Your Brother a Message," King Joffrey

The biggest villain on Game of Thrones is a little blonde boy who became king. He already ordered the death of Ned Stark, and here we see him threaten Sansa with a crossbow to prevent Robb Stark's war. He might be a kid, but he's a kid who needs to have his head on a pike.

"I Will Take What Is Mine with Fire and Blood," Daenerys

With baby dragons and an inner strength more radiant than her hair, Daenerys is one bad-ass chick not to be messed with. Even without Khal Drogo by her side, Daenerys is a dangerous woman to mess with, and her desire to reclaim her kingdom puts anyone in her path in an unenviable position.

"Anyone Can Be Killed," Arya

Picking my favorite character on Game of Thrones is almost impossible, but if I were to have a top five, the youngest Stark daughter would definitely be on it. Her little sword Needle may have tasted blood, but it needs a lot more, and I hope that happens in season 2.

"I Understand the Way This Game is Played," Tyrion

Peter Dinklage deservedly won the Emmy and Golden Globe for his performance, and with awesome quotes like this one, he could be on his way to a repeat. Tyrion is easily the smartest character on Game of Thrones, and his machinations should prove even more delightful in season 2.
