While Littlefinger gave Bran the Valyrian steel dagger in Game of Thrones
Season 7, "The Spoils of War," Bran mentioned that chaos is a ladder. There was a look on Littlefinger's face that seemed like a mixture of shock and pride. The actual line was a link back to season 3, when Littlefinger told Varys that chaos was a ladder. What does Bran using that same line mean in the show?
It's a Clear Indication Bran Sees All
Bran hasn't held anything back about his new-found position as the Three-Eyed Raven. He has been open with both Sansa and Arya so far, so it seems likely that he has been open with Littlefinger. There are high chances that Littlefinger didn't really believe him, but the comment about chaos being a ladder is Bran's indication that he really does see all.

There was only one person who heard Littlefinger refer to chaos as a ladder: Varys. Bran hasn't been anywhere near Varys to hear about this, so the only way he could know about the statement is through his new all-seeing abilities.
If Bran knew about the comment, he must also know about who sent the cutthroat to kill him way back in season 1. He must also know who the Valyrian steel dagger belonged to.Bran Isn't Someone to Manipulate
While making it clear he sees all, Bran also made it clear to Littlefinger that he wasn't someone to manipulate. When Littlefinger gave Bran the Valyrian steel dagger, it clearly had expectations. Like he has with Sansa and many others, Littlefinger wanted to manipulate Bran to gain the one thing he's been after from the very beginning: the Iron Throne.
Bran's single line showed that he knew Littlefinger's attempted plan. He's made it clear that he is now a threat. This could thwart everything Littlefinger has attempted to do with Sansa, especially now that Arya Stark is back in Winterfell, too.
If Littlefinger wants to continue his plan, he will need to find another way to do it.
Bran Knows Why Ned Stark Fell
At the end of Game of Thrones Season 1 fans were shocked to see Littlefinger betray Ned Stark. It led to Ned being executed at the hands of Joffrey Baratheon. Bran's quote shares that he knows far more than just that single line. He knows that Littlefinger was involved in Ned's fall. Bran knows that Littlefinger is one of those to blame for the heartache the Starks have faced over the last few years.
This is information Bran could use against Littlefinger. Bran could tell Sansa and Arya the full truth, along with Jon when Jon returns from Dragonstone. It's information that could bring LIttlefinger down once and for all.
Game of Thrones Season 7: Can Bran Be Trusted Anymore?>>>
"Chaos is a ladder" wasn't just a line to stop Littlefinger from attempting to manipulate Bran. It was a statement harking back to Game of Thrones
season 3 and made it clear to Littlefinger that this young Stark knows far more than he should. This could cause problems for Littlefinger moving forward, especially where Sansa Stark is concerned.
