John Stamos


Emmy-nominated American actor John Stamos was born on August 19, 1963 in Cypress, California. He started out with his career on the long-running soap opera General Hospital as Blackie Parrish, before moving on to other television shows. One of his most memorable roles was appearing as musician and uncle Jesse Katsopolis on the classic family sitcom Full House, and he more recently plays paramedic Tony Gates on the medical drama series ER. Stamos has also acted on Friends, Clone High, and Jake in Progress. Aside from his onscreen work, he has also performed as a drummer and backup vocalist for the Beach Boys, and on Broadway in Cabaret. He’s also known as Rebecca Romijn’s ex-husband.

Hermes “Jesse” Katsopolis is portrayed by John Stamos in the classic television comedy series Full House. The son of a Greek family, he nicknamed himself Jesse after Elvis Presley’s deceased twin. He is a rock music fan who’s obsessed with Elvis, motorcycles, and his hairstyle. He moves in with his brother-in-law Danny Tanner to help raise Danny’s daughters, after his sister and Danny’s wife Pamela passes away. Jesse was very protective of Pamela, even beating up Danny in the past after he’d eloped with Jesse’s sister. Throughout the series, his career and life remains linked with music, though he slowly changes from a young rebel into a responsible family man.
