After Dennis Leary, Jeff Foxworthy, Pam Anderson, William Shatner, and Flavor Flav, it will be
Full House star and one of the dirtiest comedians in the biz
Bob Saget's time to take center stage on the famed
Comedy Central Roast.
He will undergo what many consider as a great tribute tonight at 10pm with
John Stamos serving as the Roast Master. Stamos will be joined by classic Roast mouths, Norm Macdonald, Jim Norton, Brian Posehn and Jeffrey Ross.
“It's an honor… My ass is already sore,” said Saget, a great sport truly. Yet one of Comedy Central's top guns already expressed her concerns about what might happen Sunday night.
“Bob Saget is one of the true nice guys. I've apologized to him in advance for what this evening holds in store for him,” Elizabeth Porter, senior vice president of specials and talent for the network, said.
Saget is best known for his long-running show
Full House, plus hosting
America's Funniest Home Videos for eight years. Those who are familiar with his stand-up routines, however, know that Saget can talk about very mature content. Last year, he launched a national theater tour that runs through 2008, while starring on the one-hour HBO special
That Ain't Right.
The Philadelphia native starred on a Tony-winning Broadway production called
The Drowsy Chaperone. He has also hosted the NBC show
1 vs. 100 and is still the narrator for CBS's
How I Met Your Mother.
Saget plays Danny Tanner on
Full House, a huge hit among families. H e also ventures into directing, with the 1996 ABC television movie
For Hope, inspired by the life of his sister who died from scleroderma. He also wrote, directed, and starred in the direct-to-DVD parody of
March of the Penguins,
Farce of the Penguins in 2007.
