What happens when Astrid meets Astrid?

We will find out the answer to that question in the next Fringe episode, "Making Angels," airing this Friday. The episode brings more than one visitor from the other universe over to ours, even while the Fringe team investigates yet another new threat. Find out what happens in "Making Angels" with these sneak peek video clips from the episode.

ATTENTION: Videos from an upcoming Fringe episode = Fringe spoilers. Don't say I didn't warn you.

The first of the two Fringe videos shows what happens when Alt-Astrid makes her first appearance in Walter's lab.

  • It's nice and surprisingly realistic that Walter does not know immediately, from Alt-Astrid's initial hello, that he's talking to the wrong Astrid.
  • Scrambled eggs are delightful!
  • One question: Did our Astrid never correct Walter's improper naming of her? I mean, he's done it dozens of times, and I could have sworn she has corrected him in the past. Of course, this could easily be one of those changed-timeline things again.

The second video also takes place in Walter's lab, confirming that a full-scale "invasion" from the other side is afoot. Check it out below:

This video brings up something interesting about the new-and-improved-timeline on Fringe: Fauxlivia did, in fact, impersonate Olivia in some way. At least, that's the gist of what can be gathered from her conversation with Walter about left-behind items and trust issues.

But how would that happen in this new timeline? The impersonation, as we knew it, occurred when the Fringe team crossed over to the Alt-Universe for the specific purpose of retrieving Peter. With no Peter, where did the Olivia mix-up occur?

Even if Fringe can come up with another reason for the characters to hop between universes, how did they do it? The new timeline's cortexiphan kids are buried in the dark recesses of corporate secrecy, Olivia can't do anything psychically cool, and the only pre-bridge portal we've heard about was mothballed at Massive Dynamic. So how did they cross over?

It's all very confusing.

Hopefully, however, the next Fringe episode, "Making Angels," will help to clear up some of these mysteries when it airs on Friday, February 3 at 9pm on FOX.
