If you're a regular viewer of Fringe, you probably aren't all that used to the concept of answers. Questions, sure -- Fringe provides those constantly. But answers, while they have usually shown up eventually, are few and far-between.

But, according to a new promo video for Fringe season 4, episode 14, answers may be coming.

WARNING: There are only brief flashes of spoilers here, but spoilers they remain. If you don't like such things, it's probably best to stop reading, leaving the answers for later. Otherwise, please continue.

Next week's episode 14 of Fringe season 4 is called -- ominously -- "The End of All Things." Based on this Fringe promo video, the episode will feature the return of September, the Observer. So no, he's not totally dead yet. Although things may not be looking so good for him even here...

Did you catch all of that?

Probably not, unless you're the obsessive type (or a bored and randomly ambitious TV journalist). It all kind of flashed past in milliseconds. Obviously, the main point that the Fringe video wanted to give us was that Peter will be hanging out with September and asking him questions.

As for the rest -- here are the moments I was able to catch with careful use of the "pause" button.

  • A generic shot of Olivia, Peter and Walter (?) walking under blue light
  • David Robert Jones halfway through an inter-universe portal
  • An "ambered" area guarded by a "Caution" sign
  • Peter's gravestone
  • Olivia in the isolation tank with electrodes on her head
  • A flash of September looking very Observer-y
  • Peter standing close to either Olivia or Fauxlivia
  • Peter kissing either Olivia or Fauxlivia
  • Fauxlivia holding her baby
  • Peter in the Machine
  • And then we finally get to a slightly longer clip, this time showing September falling to the ground with blood staining his shirt. Peter seems rather upset about this.
  • This is followed, apparently non-sequentially, by a voiceover of Peter saying, "Who or what are you?" while September (with no blood evident) and Peter look at each other suspiciously.
  • Did you catch that little blip just before the Fringe logo was replaced by the FOX logo? If you pause at just the right moment, you can read the cryptic word "OBSERVE" for a split-second.

What does all of this mean? I haven't the foggiest idea. Do you have any theories? Did you catch any more short flashes of scenes? Let us know in the comments section!

Fringe season 4, episode 14, "The End of All Things" will air on Friday, February 24 at 9pm on FOX.
