Peter Bishop is a wanted man in Fringe season 5. This shouldn't be much of a surprise, considering he is an insurgent who might just be capable of destroying Observer rule in the future of 2036. But how exactly do the Observers expect to catch him? This Fringe video may have an answer.

Fringe is available on Amazon Prime.

This is only the latest Fringe promo video released by FOX in the days and weeks leading up to the season 5 premiere on Friday, September 28. But it's a little different. Previous videos showed one of the Observer commanders, Captain Windmark, speaking directly to the camera. Kind of like it was a public-service announcement.

This new video doesn't show any Observers. The only face we see is that of Peter Bishop. Peter doesn't talk, and the photo isn't terribly clear, but the result is that this is more like a high-tech "Wanted" poster than anything.

What do we learn about Peter Bishop's status and the Observers' reaction to it in season 5?

  • They seem to have only one image of Peter. That does bode well for Peter's continued well-being.
  • Wouldn't the Observers have better luck if they referred to Peter as a man instead of an individual? It's more accurate.
  • Did you ever want to know the particulars of Peter's appearance? According to the video: White male, 30-35 years, 6 feet tall, brown hair, blue eyes and medium build.
  • Do the Observers get a lot of Natives ratting out others on their "reward wire." If the rewards are good enough, I bet they would. This would also explain how the Observers get those dedicated, tattooed people to be in their service.

Of course, like all of these Fringe season 5 promo videos, insurgent messages are hidden in quickly passing frames. I don't claim to have caught all of them, but here are a few:

For now, we simply have to wait for the premiere of Fringe season 5 on Friday, September 28 at 9pm on FOX.
