Are you ready for Fringe season 5 to begin? Are you sure?

Considering that the new season of Fringe brings us a whole new universe -- set in the Observer-controlled, dystopian year of 2036 -- you need to be sure that you are ready. These three Fringe preview videos should help.

Fringe is available on Amazon Prime.

WARNING: There are Fringe season 5 spoilers in these videos. You should only watch them if you want to know about the season premiere. If not, please go away now. Thank you.

The first video gives us a look at the Fringe team -- Peter, Astrid and Walter anyway -- adjusting to life in the future.

Even in the future, Walter is not wearing pants.

The more important information, however, is that Walter has an idea of where to find Olivia. Also, egg sticks.

In the second video, Etta takes Peter, Astrid and Walter to what was once Central Park. They are looking for Olivia. But what they find in this clip is very different.

  • Central Park is not looking very nice these days.
  • So the Observers didn't just ruin their distant future Earth, they actually need a ruined Earth to survive well. That is both odd and disturbing.
  • Is the average life-span already only about 45 or is that going to come when the Observers' bad-air plants are fully online?
  • It's handy that everyone got stuck in the amber around the same time. Or maybe it was all part of Walter's master plan.
  • Walter is awfully testy in these clips.

What are "amber gypsies?" The full answer will have to wait for the Fringe season 5 premiere to give us an answer. In the meantime, the third and final Fringe video from "Transilience Thought Unifier Model-11" shows a trip to the black market to find the amber gypsies.

At least we know that, however testy Walter is, he can still be insane about a beautiful and strange woman dressed like a geisha. Meanwhile, we have the stunning and fascinating information that walnuts are a valuable commodity in 2036. Who knew a handful of nuts would be worth so much?

Will those walnuts be enough to find Olivia among the amber in the gypsy store? Can the Fringe team be united? Find out when Fringe season 5 premieres on Friday, September 28 at 9pm on FOX.
