Stardom came to Lisa Kudrow when she became part of the sitcom Friends. Although she already starred on television shows and worked in a number of movies prior to her participation on the award-winning series, she attracted much attention as the longhaired blonde performer named Phoebe Buffay. Portraying the ditzy and flaky character earned her an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 1998, a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series in 2000 and more than ten nominations from various award-giving bodies.

After Friends, Kudrow starred on the HBO original series The Comeback. The show was about has-been stars trying to make a comeback on television. Although Kudrow received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, the show was not renewed for a second season. She also served as co-creator, writer and executive producer of the show. Apart from her The Comeback, she also did voice works for The Simpsons and American Dad. In addition, she also worked in movies like Happy Endings and appeared on shows like Father of the Pride and Hopeless Pictures.

Kudrow proved that there is in deed life after Friends. At present, she is working on five new films. First is the movie PS, I Love You, a comedy drama about a young widow who discovers that her late husband has left her 10 messages to alleviate her pain and start a new life. Directed by Richard LaGravenese, the film is expected to launch in December 2007. Other projects still in production are Kabluey, The Women, Kiss the Bride and Intense Girl Scouts.
