Born Matthew Langford Perry on August 19, 1969 in Williamstown, Massachusetts to an American father, actor John Bennett Perry, and a Canadian mother, Suzanne Perry Morrison, Matthew Perry is son to divorced parents. He was raised in Ottawa and grew up in Ontario. He was educated in Rockcliffe Park Public School, Lisgar Collegiate Institute, and Ashbury College. His films include Three to Tango, The Whole Nine Yards, The Whole Ten Yards, Fools Rush In and Serving Sara. He started acting in the early 1990s and was cast for Friends in 1994. He also appeared in The West Wing. Earlier in his life he got addicted to alcohol and Vicodin, a type of painkiller. He was placed in rehab for recovery. Perry has dated Yasmine Bleeth, Julia Roberts, and Lauren Graham and was linked to Meg Ryan.
Chandler Bing is played by Matthew Perry in the hit television series Friends. Chandler is the son of erotic novelist Nora Tyler Bing and cross-dressing Vegas burlesque star Charles Bing. He became Ross Geller's roommate in college and became an executive specializing in statistical analysis and data reconfiguration. After a while he left his job and later on became a junior copywriter for an advertising agency. He had a relationship with Monica Geller, Ross' sister, which at first was kept secret but was soon found out by their friends.

He enjoys playing ice hockey and softball in his spare time
