Born Matthew Steven LeBlanc on born July 25, 1967 in Newton, Massachusetts, Matt LeBlanc is the elder son of Paul LeBlanc and Pat Grossman. He has a half-brother named Justin. Matt LeBlanc is a graduate of Newton North High School and was also educated in Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. His first appearances on television were that of commercials including products like Heinz, Levi's and Coca-cola. His first television series appearance was in TV 101 and his first music video appearance was for Alanis Morisette's "Walk Away". He also appeared in
Vinny and Bobby and
Married With Children. In 1994 he was cast for
Friends as Joey Tribbiani and for this he earned more fame. He also earned yearly nominations from 2002 to 2004 for this role. He then received three consecutive Best Actor nominations at the Golden Globe Awards. He is married to Melissa McKnight and has a daughter with her. In 2006, however, they were formally divorced due to irreconcilable differences.
