Zach Gilford is a Chicago native who graduated from Northwestern University. In his spare time, he enjoys backpacking and ice climbing in Alaska. Previously, he appeared in the television show Law & Order. He has an upcoming project with Lucy Liu called Rise. At present, he is part of the television series Friday Night Lights where he portrays Matt Saracen.
Matt Saracen was a former backup of the Dillon Panthers. After
Jason 's unfortunate incident, Matt becomes the starting quarterback. Although he seems to lack the expertise of Jason, he is apparently passionate about his sport and is serious in leading the Panthers to victory. Moreover, he must deal with his instant fame.
