The 14th episode of season 2 finds Matt Saracen as he loses perspective on things. He reaches a tough point in his life where nothing seems to really matter to him anymore.
Meanwhile, Julie struggles with jealousy yet again. This time, however, she has to deal with her mom Tami's time with town vixen Tyra. After being recruited as the new spiker for the girls' volleyball team, Tyra's relationship with Tami continues to grow, driving Julie to become very envious.
After uncomfortably seeing Landry with a physics study buddy named Jean at Applebee's, Tyra might have to deal with some jealousy issues herself, especially when the new potential love interest could shake up her relationship with Landry.
As for Smash, he begins his three-day suspension and turns to Coach Eric Taylor for some advice.
