Freak Show is an animated series about a band of freak show performers called the Freak Squad, who also happen to be substandard superheroes. The plot of the show focuses on the adventures and mostly misadventures of the carnival freaks who are secretly employed to accomplish trivial and insignificant missions from the Pentagon. Apart from being superheroes, the Freak Squad performs for Bob and Helen Hartsdale's Funtyme Freak Show.
The Freak Squad moonlights the hilarious series Freak Show. The squad includes Tuck and Benny, The Bearded Clam, The World's Tallest Nebraskan, Primi, The Premature Baby, and Log Cabin Republican. Each character has special powers that enable them to transform themselves or expel odd bodily fluid as a form of defense. Throughout the series, the Freak Squad constantly does things like clandestinely changing the mileage on the President's Trans-Am, reading the meter at an embassy in a treacherous war-torn country, or searching for a way to import good food from dangerous locales in order to satisfy the President's craving. Freak Show is produced and created by David Cross and H. Jon Benjamine. It airs Thursdays at 10:30 PM EST on Comedy Central.
