Peri Gilpin became a TV regular when she landed the role of Rozalind "Roz" Doyle on the long-running sitcom
Frasier. As the producer of Frasier Crane’s Dr. Frasier Crane Show on KACL, she became one of Frasier’s closest friends, despite all the teasing and mocking involved in their friendship. Because of her appeal, as well as her delight in men, her promiscuity was often the subject of many jokes. She had many brief flings with coworkers, including Bulldog Briscoe, had slept with Frasier and had lusted after co-worker Noel Shempsky. She was nominated for a Viewers for Quality Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Quality Comedy Series and won a Screen Actors Guild Award along with other cast members for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series in 1993.
After
Frasier, Gilpin starred on the comedy
Uncommon Sense as the character Tracy. She became part of several animated shows and films, providing the voice of Desiree on
Danny Phantom, Professor Kate Corrigan in
Hellboy Animated: Sword of Storms and
Hellboy Animated: Blood and Iron, and in the animated film
Thru the Moebius Strip as Caroline Weir. She also guest starred on the dramedy
Women of a Certain Age as the character Dianne, the drama
For the Love of a Child, on the drama series
Medium and on the dramedy
Desperate Housewives as Maggie Gilroy. Most recently, she was cast as
Erin in Crossroads: A Story of Forgiveness, a tragic drama about a drag racing accident.
Gilpin will soon reprise her role as Professor Kate Corrigan in
Hellboy Animated: The Phantom Claw, the third installment of the
Hellboy animated movie series. Her character works for the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense and maintains a close yet professional relationship with Hellboy. Slated for 2008, the film also features the voice of Ron Perlman as Hellboy.
