It's always painful to say goodbye to friends, real or imaginary. Cartoon Network has announced that it has bid farewell to its award-winning series Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends just this weekend. The series has survived several seasons in a span of four years, and has won five Emmy Awards and five Annie Awards during its lifetime.
As a send-off to the series, the network has been running a marathon this Sunday, May 3 with five brand-new episodes. Beginning at 1pm, relive the greatest moments of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and enjoy the last new installments as they begin at 4:30.
The series will end with the episode "Goodbye to Bloo," a finale that will both be mayhem-filled and tearful. Below is the full list of the final five episodes with a short description accompanying each one.
04:30pm: "The Bloo Superdude & The Great Creator of Everything's Awesome Ceremony of Fun That He's Not Invited To" -- Bloo imagines he is engaged in another hair-raising adventure as the Bloo Superdude, but in reality, he is just deliriously sick and trying to attend Mac's birthday party.
05:00pm: "Bad Dare Day" -- What starts as an innocent dare turns into a house-wide competition that pits the friends against each other in a bid to win the title of Dare Champion!
05:30pm: "Read 'Em and Weep" -- Several recently adopted Imaginary Friends start to paint a less-than-rosy picture of life outside the house through a series of letters sent to Foster's.
06:00pm: "Fools And Regulations" -- Bloo and the Friends are forced to choose between staying upstairs and staying outside while Frankie and Mr. Herriman host an important party at Foster's.
06:30pm: "Goodbye to Bloo" -- Bloo and the Friends think Mac is moving away forever, so they set out to make his last day at Foster's the greatest he's ever had.
Created by animation director Craig McCracken,
Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends was launched in 2004. The creative and delightful series became a favorite among viewers, due to its unique premise and clever characters. While the reasons for the show's cancellation are unclear, we'll surely miss Bloo, Mac and the rest of the Foster's Home inhabitants.
