Kristen Schaal is a talented comic, actress and writer who recently won best female stand-up at the 2006 Nightlife Award in New York, as well as Best Alternative Comic at HBO's 2006 United States Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. She was also the recipient of the second annual Andy Kaufman Award and was listed in New York Magazine's “Ten Funniest New Yorkers You've Never Heard Of”. She is the founding member of Striking Viking Story Pirates theatre company which adapts stories written by children into sketches and songs.
