Lately, it seems that reality shows have been bringing us more twists and turns than scripted TV, and fans all over the world have been quick to let their thoughts be known. Last year, we saw how the fans unleashed their insights on the twisted ending of the 11th season of
The Bachelor, in which
Brad Womack refused to decide between
Jenni Croft and
DeAnna Pappas. DeAnna didn’t walk away with nothing, though, as she soon landed her own show,
The Bachelorette.
Another reality dating series that has surprised us more recently is
Flavor of Love, which concluded its third season a few days ago. Coming close to the finish line to win
Flava Flav’s heart was
Thing 2 and
Black, who eventually headed home after the finale.
"I got my man. We ain’t coming back for a season four. It’s a wrap," Thing 2 said in the season finale. However, the drama apparently did not end in there.
During the reunion show of
Flavor of Love’s third season, Flava Flav decided to go down on his knees and propose to Liz, the mother of his children who was never in the competition to begin with.
"Out of all my shows that I’ve done, this moment right here is the hardest for me," Flavor Flav said of his experiences on the show. "This is my third season of
Flavor of Love and everything, you know what I mean, and I went through sixty-five women."
He goes on to say that among those 65 women, he did not find what he was looking for. Apparently, it took him three whole seasons of the dating game to realize that what he was looking for was in Liz, the mother of his children.
"None of the girls, out of all 65, had qualities like Liz," Flava Flav told VH1. "She’s a very good mom at home. She’s a very wonderful person and she’s been hanging in there with me. I love her so much for that. I think right now she deserved the best and the best is me."
He went on to say that "The best gift that a man can ever give a child is to love his mother, and you know, I do love his mom."
Surely, there was a happy ending for Flava Flav and Liz, but for the 65 women on the show, this might’ve been a complete waste of time. While viewers might’ve seen the whole show as pointless, Flava Flav sees it as a journey to finding his true love, who was by his side all the while.
"Right now, I feel so relieved," Flava Flav told VH1. "I feel real good right now that I got my true love. I wanna be with her forever and ever and ever."
