Sometime in January, we reported about
Flavor of Love 2 contestant, Saaphyri, who had expressed her interest in rejoining the quest to win
Flavor Flav's heart in
Flavor of Love 3. Well, we all know THAT didn't materialize and our clock-wearing, Public Enemy rapper has an entirely new batch of hopefuls vying for his love.
Nevertheless, while Saaphyri's continued aspirations of enslaving Flavor Flav's heart may have been dashed, the former
Flavor of Love contender does have other things to smile about. For one thing, she has certainly made good use of her
Flavor of Love exposure, as well as her subsequent stint on the ensuing
Charm School, and the $50,000 she pocketed for winning the latter. We mentioned it before, but now it appears that Saaphyri is going full steam ahead with launching her line of lip chap and ultimate Indian hair.
Flavor of Love alum, Saaphyri, has come out with a web-based commercial to promote her Lip Chaps and Ultimate Indian Hair weave. In the webmercial, the eventual winner of the etiquette- training Charm School sticks her rear cheeks up in the air, licks and sucks her fingers, then whispers, “Somebody needs some LipChap.” Check it out:
Saaphyri is particularly proud of her lip balm line, which comes in the various Starburst flavors Vanilla, Peach, Mojito, Pina Colada, Green Apple, Strawberry, Bubblegum, Watermelon, Wintergreen and Cookie Dough.
"The Lip Chap actually came from season 2. I offered a girl some Lip Chap. Then I had people come up to me all the time and ask for it," the former
Flavor of Love hopeful said. "It will not make your lips glossy, but it will keep them extremely moist. It has SPF 15 in it. You have to take good care of your lips. People are always looking at them,” Saaphyri added.
Incidentally, recalling what Saaphyri said before about her attraction to Flavor Flav - “I've never been one for looks anyway. That has never been my thing. I've dated some guys that have probably looked worse than Flav, but they had good hearts, or at least I thought so at the time. It was never about the appearances. I want to get to know a person. Plus Flavor smelled so good. He smelled really good.” – maybe she can bottle his fragrance and market it as another component in her line of beauty products. Just a thought…
