Anna Van Hooft is an actress who has appeared in a number of films and television productions. Most notably, she appeared in the 2006 remake of the horror movie The Wicker Man, which starred Nicolas Cage and Ellen Burstyn. Her other acting credits include roles in The Incredible Mrs. Ritchie, CSI, Trollz, Twelve Mile Road, Caitlin's Way, and John Tucker Must Die. She is slated to play Aura in the upcoming science fiction series Flash Gordon.

Aura is portrayed by Anna Van Hooft in the Sci-Fi Channel's modern-day remake of the classic comic series Flash Gordon. She is the strong-willed daughter of the evil despot Ming, and her beauty often leads others to underestimate her, even her own father. She constantly strives and works hard to earn her father's respect, though their beliefs don't always coincide. She is a master at manipulating situations and having them play out according to her whims, possessing an innate grasp of politics. She finds herself attracted to Flash and considers Dale a rival, which makes her both a useful friend and a fearsome foe.
