'Flash Forward' Execs Put Forward Their Answers
'Flash Forward' Execs Put Forward Their Answers
The recent episode of Flash Forward may be the show's fall finale, but as the series progresses the intrigue grows and we're only left with questions.  Usually a fan would look to the series' actors for hints on their characters.  Unfortunately, that isn't the case with this ABC drama.

Lucky for us, TV Guide caught up with Flash Forward's showrunner David Goyer with his executive producer and wife Jessica Borsiczky, to settle things at last.  Well, as far as January anyway.

Possible spoilers below!

"We've established our story, we've introduced our characters," Goyer began.  "From here on out, it's a wild ride pretty much to the end of the season."

Since that's too vague and general for us to swallow up, TV Guide just had to press them for more answers.  First off, there's Mark's (Joseph Fiennes) story.

"There may be another reason why Mark drinks that has nothing to do with Lloyd or Olivia," the series co-creator said.  "And it may be a much more interesting reason.  But we won't explore that until the second half of the season."

Does that mean we shouldn't give up on Flash Forward just yet?  Definitely, and another reason why lies in Dominic Monaghan's character, the genius Simon Campos and how different he is from Jack Davenport's Lloyd.

Goyer explained, "Simon believes we can't change our destiny.  Lloyd believes people need to take responsibility for whatever's pre-determined.  Oh, and I'll tell you that Simon has new information about Somalia and the crow die-off there."

Speaking of death, there's the case of Demetri.  Borsiczky accounted for that one and said, "We've seen already that the future can be changed, but Demetri's question will be: How difficult is it to change it, and if one person's future changes, does everyone's change?"

Even though we're still hungry for answers regarding Flash Forward, the surprise will vanish if all details will be laid out.  Still, Goyer hinted at what's coming in January.

"[W]e aren't ready to say what the kangaroo is about or what clues on Mark's [bulletin] board, like Red Panda Resources and D. Gibbons, mean.  But all that will be revealed.  We start explaining Red Panda in January.  And we will be returning to the stadium between Episodes 15 and 24 more than once."

These may not be enough to keep us patient for Flash Forward's return next year, but maybe we can just pore over the clues given and figure the mystery out for ourselves.  Then again, the show's really getting better, and January's just a couple weeks away anyway.
