Scott Speedman was popularly known for his role as Ben Covington on the series
Felicity, which starred Keri Russell as the title character. He was Felicity’s primary reason to move to New York. In contrast to Felicity, he kept his feelings bottled up to himself. He had a complicated family life and often made hasty decisions, which he would regret later on. But in the course of the series, Ben’s true emotions and sensitivity eventually came out.
Following four years of
Felicity, Speedman focused his energy in the big screen. He starred in the action-thriller movie
Dark Blue, alongside Kurt Russell. Next, he starred in
My Life Without Me, an award-winning romantic drama in which he was cast as the character Don. He was also featured as one of the lead actors in the movie
Underworld. The said film is a romantic action-thriller starring Kate Beckinsale as a beautiful warrior vampire who falls in love with Speedman’s character Michael Corvin, a Lycan. Later, he reprised his role in the sequel
Underworld: Evolution, a film that continued the warfare between vampires and Lycans, while highlighting the beginning of the feud. In addition, he also became part of movies like
The 24th Day, XXX: State of the Union, and
Weirdsville.
Approaching this July is Speedman’s film entitled
The Strangers, a horror-thriller about a young couple in a vacation home who are terrorized by three unknown assailants. The said movie features Speedman as James and Liv Tyler as Kristen, the young couple, along with Glenn Howerton, Gemma Ward, Kip Weeks, Laura Margolis and Sterling Beaumon.
After this, he stars in a psychological thriller called
Anamorph as the character Carl. Directed by Henry Miller, the cast also includes Willem Dafoe, Peter Stormare, Amy Carlson, James Rebhorn, and Clea DuVall.
