Gillette Young Gun James Christopher "Jamie" McMurray was born on June 3, 1976 in Joplin, Missouri. He started racing go-karts when he was eight and has been racing for numerous years since. He won his first US go-kart title when he was ten, and won that three more times in his later years. In 1991, McMurray he won the World Go-Karting Championship and a year later he started racing in NASCAR late-model races, eventually leading to the NASCAR RE/MAX Challenge Series in 1998 and 1999. Also in 1999, his debut in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck took place, competing in fifteen truck races and eventually winning two Bud Poles. Moving to NASCAR Busch series, he raced full time for the 2001 and 2002 seasons for Brewco Motorsports. After many successes in the racing arena, McMurray has also appeared on television programs such as MTV's Cribs, The West Wing, and The Biography Channel's NASCAR: Driven to Win. In 2007, he was also featured as one of the six professional racers representing the Gillette Young Guns on Fast Cars and Superstars: The Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race.

Jamie McMurray is one of six professional racers to form the team of Gillette Young Guns on Fast Cars and Superstars: The Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race, a reality show from ABC. The show features twelve celebrities racing it out stock car style with the Gillette Young Guns. Among the twelve are William Shatner, William Shatner, John Salley and Krista Allen.
