Professional volleyball player and model Gabrielle Reece was born on January 6, 1970 in La Jolla, California. She spent her early years living in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands and excelled at basketball while in high school thus colleges then started recruiting her due to her abilities in sports. She then received a volleyball scholarship from Florida State University (FSU) where she majored in communications. In 1997, Reece was inducted into the FSU Athletics Hall of Fame and has played on professional volleyball tours since she graduated. Reece had also launched her modeling career while in college and she appeared on covers of several magazines such as Shape, Women's Sports and Fitness, Outside, ELLE and Life. She also appeared on Playboy's cover on its January 2001's issue which included her nude pictorial. Reece has also appeared on television as a guest star on the third season of Extreme Makeover Home Edition. In 1997, she married Laird Hamilton and six years later, she had a daughter with him. In 2007 she and her husband were cast for a reality series Fast Cars and Superstars: The Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race.
Gabrielle Reece appears as one of the twelve celebrity racers on Fast Cars and Superstars: The Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race, a new ABC reality series. She joins eleven other celebrities from different arenas to compete and race with six Gillette Young Guns and eventually, with each other.
