
On Thursday, June 7 at 8/7 C, ABC will rev up the summer by brining in a new reality series called
Fast Cars & Superstars. Slated for six half-hour episodes followed by a one-hour finale, the show features celebrities in a stock car auto racing competition.
Fast Cars and Superstars will feature 12 celebrities from the entertainment, sports and music industry, behind the wheel while under the watchful eyes of six of NASCAR’s Nextel Cup Series drivers, the Gillette Young Guns.

The first contestant is singer and songwriter
Jewel. This 33-year old native of Utah has released numerous albums and has won many awards from various award-giving bodies.
Other actors joining the show include
William Shatner and
Krista Allen. Shatner is known for his work on
Star Trek, Rescue 911,
Boston Legal, and
The Twilight Zone to name a few, while Allen is notable for her role on
Days of Our Lives.
In addition, a number of sports icons will also be joining the race such as skateboarding legend
Tony Hawk, Rodeo champion
Ty Murray, NBA champion
John Salley, tennis star
Serena Williams, volleyball player
Gabrielle Reece, legendary surfer
Laird Hamilton, WWE champion
John Cena, NFL Super Bowl champion quarterback
John Elway, and NFL Super Bowl-winning head coach
Bill Cowher.
These 12 celebrities will be teamed up and trained under the Gillette Young Guns, which comprises of
Jimmie Johnson,
Ryan Newman,
Carl Edwards,
Kasey Kahne,
Kurt Busch and
Jamie McMurray.
