Britney Spears as the next X Factor judge?
The controversial pop star has reportedly been offered $10 million to join The X Factor
's second season to fill one of the vacant positions left by Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, according to Deadline.com
. While a deal has yet to be confirmed, rumors about Spears' casting are getting louder especially after X Factor
judge and producer Simon Cowell complimented her in several public statements. "I'm fascinated by Britney," Cowell said in a radio interview with Billy Bush. "The fact that she's one of the most talked about -- not just pop stars but people -- in the world today, means that you've got this star power. This girl has resilience. I would think that if she's managed to sustain a family, a career, which is tough, [X Factor
would be] a walk in the park. I would be fascinated to hear what she has to say. She's still hot, she's still having hit records and she's still controversial. There's a reason for that."

reports that the couple has decided to end their 11-year marriage that spawned three minor children.
