but below I've collected the data and answered some of your inevitable
questions. Is Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood the top queen of American Idol
? Who is the ONLY winner not on the list?
Keep reading for the answers to these questions and more.Who Has the Most Songs on the List?
The undisputed queens of American Idol
are season 4 winner Carrie Underwood, who has 20 songs on the list, and season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson, with 18. Third is Daughtry with nine songs, followed by Fantasia with six and then Jordin Sparks and David Cook tied at five.Who's at the Top?
Carrie Underwood might have more songs on the list than Kelly Clarkson, but Kelly is definitely on top. Not only does she have the number one Billboard song from any American Idol contestant ("Since U Been Gone"), but she also has the second best ("Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)") and she has six of the top eight songs overall and half of the Top 20. That's some impressive domination, and the only other people to make the Top 10 are Jordin Sparks (with her Chris Brown duet "No Air"), Phillip Phillips with "Home," Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats" and Daughtry's "It's Not Over."Are All Winners and Runners-Up on the List?
Surprisingly, the answer to this question is "No." While 10 of the show's 11 winners are represented, season 9's Lee DeWyze is the odd man out. There are only three runners-up who didn't make the list, including Crystal Bowersox from DeWyze's season, season 11's Jessica Sanchez and season 1's Justin Guarini. The other 18 winners and runners-up are all on the list.Is Every Season Represented?
Again, the answer is "No," and it's all due to season 9. The Lee DeWyze year (also Simon Cowell's last and the only one with judge Ellen DeGeneres) failed to create a single chart-topping singer. Every other season has at least one singer on the list. What Season Produced the Most Top Singers?
Believe it or not, this honor goes to season 5, won by Taylor Hicks. Not only did he and runner-up Katharine McPhee both make the list, but it also had Elliott Yamin, Daughtry, Kellie Pickler and Bucky Covington, all of whom appear. The only other season with more than three singers represented is season 2, where the final four all charted (Ruben Studdard, Clay Aiken, Josh Gracin and Kimberley Locke). Are Any Idol Group Numbers on the List?
While the group numbers from results shows get lots of criticism, two of them made the list. The Top 12 from season 4 performed Diana Ross' "When You Tell Me That You Love Me" while the Top 10 from season 2 performed "God Bless the U.S.A.," both of which landed on the chart.Who Made the List with the Worst Finish on Idol?
You might think it's Jennifer Hudson, who famously finished seventh then won an Oscar and has three songs in the Top 100. But you'd be wrong. Season 5's Bucky Covington made it on the list despite finishing eighth, and in season 4, Mario Vazquez withdrew from the Top 12, yet his career was still launched and put him on the list.
