Family Guy has had quite an interesting life. Underground hit, derided by critics, canceled with little uproar, picked up by Cartoon Network, slowly builds an audience, sells millions of DVDs out of the blue, recommissioned by FOX, and, finally, turning into a consistent top 30 show. Now, on the eve of what was supposed to be the first day of production of its sixth season, the tumultuous nature of
Family Guy's history has once again reared its ugly head.
Is this cause for concern for
Family Guy and their fans? Probably not, but you never know. Seth MacFarlane hasn't had the greatest relationship with the FOX TV brass ever since they canceled
Family Guy the first time, so the show's success has to be a monstrous source of pride for him. The renegotiations are likely just a way for MacFarlane to stick it to FOX (and make some money).
Hopefully, we'll hear no more of this and the two parties will come to an agreement soon because, as fans are well aware,
Family Guy is nothing wothout Seth MacFarlane.
