Seth MacFarlane, the man behind the animated series
Family Guy and
American Dad, will be gracing the New York Comedy Festival to present
Seth MacFarlane: Behind the Scenes of Family Guy and American Dad. The producer who also serves as the voice of
Peter,
Stewie and
Brian Griffin will take the stage on Sunday, November 11 at 7pm at the Avery Fisher Halll at the Lincoln Center.
The evening promises to provide tons of laughs as MacFarlane presents the crowd with an all exclusive backstage pass to his hit TV shows.
An award-winning animator, MacFarlane began his career studying animation and design at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he created the animated short film
The Life of Larry. Later he worked as an animator and writer for Cartoon Network's
Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory and
Cow and Chicken. He got his big break when the producers of
MADtv discovered
The Life of Larry and approached him to air it as four short segments. Although the deal was unsuccessful, MacFarlane caught the attention of FOX executives who gave him the opportunity to create a primetime animated series of his own. This consequently resulted to the birth of
Family Guy, an Emmy Award-winning series about a about a nuclear family, consisting of crude head of the Griffin household, Peter, his wife
Lois, teenage daughter
Meg, teenage son
Chris, the super intelligent and sophisticated infant son Stewie, and the family's talking dog, Brian, in the fictional town of Quahog.
In a press release, MacFarlane joked, "Over the past few years, I've had a fantastic time performing this show at colleges across the country. I hope the good people of New York will come out to see me as well... especially women between the ages of twenty-five and thirty-five... who like to have sex with strangers.
Aside from MacFarlane, the Fourth Annual New York Comedy Festival also includes celebrated comics
Rosie O'Donnell (
The View, Roseanne),
Denis Leary (
Rescue Me), Damon Wayans (
My Wife and Kids), and
Sarah Silverman (
The Sarah Silverman Program).
