Buddy Bites: 'Falling Skies' Season 3, 'Good Wife' and 'NCIS' Casting Updates
Wednesday, July 11, 2012
Today in the world of television, TNT's alien invasion gets new life, a trio of NCIS cast members extends their contracts and The Good Wife continues to add to its stunning guest cast line-up for season 4.
Falling Skies Renewed
TNT has renewed its alien invasion drama Falling Skies for a third season. The show is currently in its second season Sundays at 9pm, and season 2 premiered with 4.5 million viewers.
The show joins a number of other TNT drams with recent renewals, including Dallas, Southland and Rizzoli and Isles.
NCIS Cast Extend Contracts
After extensive contract negations, three of the stars of NCIS have signed new deals to stay with the show for at least two more seasons. Michael Weatherly, Sean Murray and Pauley Perrette have all agreed to stay with the show for the upcoming 10th season as well as a potential season 11 (which will almost certainly happen given its status as the most-watched scripted show on TV).
Amanda Peet Joins The Good Wife
In keeping with The Good Wife's nonstop, high-profile guest casting, Amanda Peet has landed a recurring role for season 4. She will play a military lawyer who hires Alicia as her own lawyer for a sexual assault case and the two wind up becoming friends.
Peet joins Nathan Lane, Maura Tiierney and Kristin Chenoweth on the long list of new guest stars for The Good Wife season 4.
Amanda Peet is also the second star of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip to land a guest role on The Good Wife (following Matthew Perry). It also continues the ties between The Good Wife and Aaron Sorkin, who created Studio 60. Josh Charles starred on Sorkin's Sports Night, and Chenoweth starred on The West Wing (she also dated Sorkin).
