Lynda Boyd was known as Darlene Shedden, the sexy owner of the local beauty salon and the ambitious “stage mother” of Tanya Shedden (
Devon Weigel) on the teen series
Falcon Beach. Despite her good intentions as a mother, she disregarded her daughter's jaded outlook, as well as her emotional and physical vulnerability. Although Tanya was uninterested, Darlene pushed her daughter into a modeling career at a very young age, hoping to make up for the dashed dreams of her youth. Moreover, she meddled with Tanya's life throughout the show, commanding her to stop seeing Lane Bradshaw, telling her to move back home and forcing her to pursue her modeling career again when she decided to quit. In the coming months, the 42-year-old actress will be featured on a new comedy pilot.
At present, the former
Falcon Beach actress is currently filming the television series
Canooks. She plays Shelli Clark in a comedy plot centered on a small town Canadian talent agent who is determined to make it big in Hollywood. She opens an L.A. branch in her overstuffed Studio City home and pushes herself, as well as her clients to do whatever it takes to succeed. Slated for September, the series also features Christopher Shyer and Dylan Ramsey.
Aside from
Falcon Beach, Lynda Boyd was also noted for her numerous television appearances. After her stint on the teen series, she quickly landed guest roles on the legal drama
Shark as Maya Snider, on
Cold Case as Caroline Dratton, and on
Traveler in the episode “The Out.” She was also cast on the series
About a Girl as Mrs. Ryan and had a supporting role in director Raul Inglis' movie called
Vice.
