From the producers of
My Super Sweet 16 comes a new spin-off reality series called
Exiled, which follows a bunch of spoiled teens as they are slapped with a serious dose of reality. Following their epic meltdowns that lead up to over-the-top teenage birthday bashes, these demanding divas are sent away by their fed up parents to learn the lesson of a lifetime.
"Our audience in the past few years has really begun to look at how they fit into the world; it's core to who young people are now," MTV executive Dave Sirulnick said in a statement. "Some of these girls had very little awareness of what was going on around them and were very self-centered. We thought, 'Here's an opportunity.'"
Exiled revolves around eight teens who previously appeared on MTV's
My Super Sweet 16, a series that gives viewers a glimpse of “the good life.” These include
Ava, the 19-year-old sophomore who previously threw an Arabian Nights bash and is now majoring in global studies,
Sierra, the high school senior who previously rushed her Sweet 16 party by celebrating her 15th birthday in grand style,
Amanda, a Florida native who previously threw a Hawaiian-themed that included a performance by R&B sensation Ciara, and
Bjorn, the outspoken male divo who threw a fashion show that starred himself for his 16th birthday.
Additionally, the show also features
Marissa, the girl who threw a Pinky Fantasy party, the biggest that Scottsdale, Arizona had ever seen,
Chelsi, a private-school cheerleader who threw a Roman-themed toga party,
Meleny who had a one-of-a-kind event fit for Egyptian royalty, and
Alex, an heiress to a chateau in Paris who previously threw a Winter Wonderland party.
Watch these girls as they are sent to remote parts of the world to live with the indigenous tribes who have never tasted anything close to the high society life beginning August 25 at 10:30pm ET/PT on MTV.
