Below you will find both the written transcript and the full mp3 audio of our interview.

Just for everyone who doesn’t know, can you just explain the premise of Ex-Wives Club for all of us?

We take a man and a woman who’s just gone through a bad relationship—a divorce and once they have gotten their divorce we put them through a, I would say like a clinic its Debbie Ford—this woman who does a lot of work with people to help them get back to their normal state of mind once they’ve been going through something really bad. And she’s really, really, really good at what she does but she puts some two day intensive course that is…that when I was watching some of the things that they were doing, I was scared. I don’t wanna give it away because the show is not out but you’ll see some of the things that they say and do to each other. Then Marla, Shar Jackson and myself take over and we do home improvements, we do physical improvements, we do clothing improvements, then we have a revenge segment. And the revenge segment is taking the belongings of the person they were married to and destroying it, basically. But we do purchase that—to make it clear, ABC is very clear that people should not go out and break things of their exes because this has all been cleared by the other person. But it does make good television.

So where did the idea for the show come about and how did you get involved?

Andrew Glassman who’s producing the show, it was his idea and he called me and asked if I wanted to be one of the hosts on the show because they needed somebody who would say it like it is, Marla is very spiritual and she’s the Cabala queen. You know she’s perfect and great to work with by the way. And then there’s Shar who has that kind of other sexy, groovy type of personality but then there’s me, the one who has the no holds bar, and that say-what-you-feel person so I think they got a good mix of hosts on the show.

Kinda going into that, do each of you kind of have a specialty when working with the divorcees? What do you think you bring to the table specifically that the others don’t?

I think every single person can relate to heartache. I just can normally, I can bring my own experience. And I’m a 37 year old woman who’s had lots of heartaches. I’m not married, I don’t have kids yet, it’s…I can only bring my experience cause I’m not a doctor, I can’t give them clinical experience that I can—advice, I could just tell them what I think and what I think they can do to make their appearance look better and to make them walk a little straighter.

Was there any rhyme reason to how you chose the people you were trying to help? Did they have one certain quality in general that they shared?

We have a lot of people who submit and come in and you’d be surprised that they have to go through psychological questioning from the network before they even get to the stage of shooting shows and to be on television and you’d be surprised that…you know, the kinds of situations that are out there that aren’t quite appropriate for television. But we chose people who were really hurt and that we really felt that we could help and I really do believe I…it was the first time in my life that I felt like Oprah where I’m…quite proud of the television show because we help people and from the beginning of the show it was…you know these people were broken and crying and by the end of the show they were laughing and standing up straight and walking tall and hugging and again crying but with different kinds of tears saying “Thank you so much. You’ve changed our lives and helped us get back on our feet.” It was just really a wonderful experience.

When does the show premiere?

June 4th right? NBC, 9 o’clock Monday night.

Alright well any sort of final thoughts, any last words about the show you’d like to tell us?

Just tune in and watch us and I hope that you guys like it because it’s a feel good reality show. It’s not one of those that knocks people off and even if we are brutally honest to them about how we think that…you know when people tell you their stories, there’s their story, there’s the wife's story then there’s the other side of the story. Or there’s their story then there’s the husband’s side. We try to get into all sides of it. We do meet some of the husbands and some of the wives, they’re good people and you know we try to tell a true story.
