As previously reported, the third season premiere of
Everybody Hates Chris will feature creator Chris Rock as a guest star. The 41-year-old actor will play Mr. Abbott, the school's guidance counselor.
In the third season opening episode, entitled "Everybody Hates the Guidance Counselor," Ms. Morello sends Chris to Mr. Abbott after he does poorly on an assessment test. Mr. Abbott then subjects Chris to a series of mental evaluations and ultimately decides that the best course of action is to have Chris take a remedial course. Meanwhile, Julius, Chris' father, tries his best to find his way out of purchasing new school clothes for the children.
This is the first time that Rock will appear in
Everybody Hates Chris, a comedy series on the CW that is loosely based on his life. Rock, however, has been serving as the show's narrator since it debuted on the now defunct network, UPN. He is also credited as one of the show's executive producers.
Aside from Chris Rock, Jacqueline Mazarella will also guest star in the third season premiere of
Everybody Hates Chris. She will reprise her role as Ms. Morello, Chris' teacher who is known for unintentionally making racist remarks.
The third season of
Everybody Hates Chris will, of course, still feature the show's core family, played by
Terry Crews,
Tichina Arnold,
Tyler James Williams,
Tequan Richmond and
Imani Hakim.
Vincent Martella will also reprise his role as Greg, Chris' best friend.
Everybody Hates Chris will return with new episodes on Monday, October 1. According to series star Williams, his character this season will be somewhat different, as he is in the process of finding himself and learning how to become a comedian.
Of working on the new season, Williams said, “My highlight is the opening, the first episode with Chris Rock. That was… I felt so funny… just being around him I felt funny.”
