For two seasons of
Everybody Hates Chris, Emmy Award-winning actor Chris Rock has served as the narrator of the show, telling the stories of a teenager growing up in Brooklyn, New York as inspired by his own childhood experiences. But when the sitcom returns for yet another season, fans will finally be able to see the 42-year-old comedian.
Filming of the upcoming season is currently underway. Meanwhile, here's a teaser of what's in store for season 3 straight from the cast members themselves.
“We have the wonderful Chris Rock…is actually gonna be on our season opener and he blew it up and it was amazing so everybody's pumped about that because you hear the voice and now gonna see the man,”
Terry Crews, who plays Chris' father Julius, revealed.
The emergence of Chris Rock onscreen is something distinct from the previous seasons of the show, which the cast looks forward to.
“My highlight is the opening, the first episode with Chris Rock. That was… I felt so funny…just being around him I felt funny,”
Tyler James Williams, who plays Chris, said.
Aside from sharing his sentiments on Chris Rock, Williams hints that he's character on the show will be a bit different in the upcoming season of
Everybody Hates Chris.
“He's found himself. He's not as awkward as he used to be…he's still awkward…but he's kinda finding who he is. He's learning to become a comedian. This whole season, he makes jokes and he's kinda poking them him here and there to see how do people feel about this… if I make them laugh or certain things happen…he's putting jokes in places that a normal kid wouldn't do,” he said.
“He's making mistakes along the way. He's figuring out what jokes are good for some people and what jokes aren't…that's all I'm gonna say,” he added.
Everybody Hates Chris season 3 premieres on Monday, October 1 at 8/7c on The CW.
