The CW has cut its sitcom block in half, keeping only one hour of scripted comedies on the schedule. Though
Everybody Hates Chris has been hailed by critics, a better title might be The CW Hates Chris. It's been moved around a lot as it moves into its fourth season. It premiered on UPN on Thursday, was moved to Mondays on the CW and then got switched to Sundays. Now it, along with
The Game, languishes on Friday nights, former home to
WWE Friday Night Smackdown, paired with reruns of
America's Next Top Model, not exactly a sign of confidence.
As for expectations,
Everybody Hates Chris has received 20 NAACP Image Award nominations, 2 Emmy nominations and it was nominated for Best Comedy Series at the Golden Globes. Season 3 ended with Chris graduating from junior high, so the promise of high school should mean more opportunities for Chris to feel like an outcast.
