
From 2002 to 2006, Gregory Smith lingered on television as Ephram Brown on the television series
Everwood. The series, which was set in the fictional small town of Everwood, Colorado, featured Smith as the son of the widower named Dr. Andrew Brown and older brother to Delia. He also became the love interest of Amy Nicole Abbott. During his stint on the drama, he won a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Series for the Leading Young Actor category, and earned several nominations from the Satellite Awards and Teen Choice Awards.
After
Everwood ended, Smith starred in the film
Closing the Ring, a romantic drama set in Belfast and North Carolina about a dying gunner who gives a ring to a local to return to his girlfriend. The movie, which premiered in February 2007 in the Berlin International Film Festival, featured Smith as the Young Jack, along with Shirley MacLaine as Ethel Ann, Christopher Plummer as Jack,
Mischa Barton as Young Ethel Ann, Stephen Amell as Teddy Gordon and Brenda Fricker as Grandma Reilly.
At present, Smith has two upcoming films that are both in post-production stages. He stars in the thriller
Boot Camp, a movie about a group of troubled teens sent to a far-off camp on the island of Fiji. However, the rehabilitation facility turns out to be a prison-like boot camp where they are maltreated and brainwashed. He portrays the character Ben and is joined by Mila Kunis as Sophie, Peter Stormare as Norman Hail, Alejandro Rae as Jack, Christopher Jacoy as Danny, Tygh Runyan as Logan, and Matthew Smalley as Nick among others. On October 5, 2007, Smith’s movie entitled
The Dark Is Rising will hit the theaters. Directed by David L. Cunningham, the film is an action-adventure plot based on the novel by Susan Cooper. The movie centers on a young man named Will Stanton who discovers that the fate of the world rests in his hands. In his quest to fight the forces of the Dark, he travels back and forth through time and explores a series of clues that lead him to a showdown with powerful forces. Smith stars as the character Max while Alexander Ludwig portrays the role of Will Stanton.
