Ed Quinn as Nathan Stark on Eureka Although Ed Quinn is most known for his work on SCI-FI's Eureka, things are also looking up for him outside of the comedy-drama.  With two upcoming movies and a successful series to his name, Quinn says he is ready to keep the ball rolling on his career.

“Right now I'm in a great place where I'm able to sort of generate work out here.  At this point in my career, [I plan to] just keep working,” Quinn told The Star Scoop, adding that although Eureka has certainly contributed to the growth of his career, his success is also defined by his willingness to work hard and take risks.

“I think it's a combination of everything.  It's a combination of doing good work, being confident, and then having exposure,” Ed Quinn said.  “It's a very good combination.  It really comes down to just always being willing to work and always being willing to audition and take risks, and eventually, you'll see the fruits of your labor.”

Having previously worked as an international model, Quinn began acting professionally in the late 1990s.  He had guest roles on such shows as Dharma & Greg, CSI: NY, What I Like About You, Jack & Jill and According to Jim, before finally being cast as Nathan Stark on Eureka.  The series is currently on its second season on the SCI-FI channel.

Outside of the show, Ed Quinn has found the time to work on two big screen productions, The Neighbor and The Rainbow Tribe.  The former also stars Matthew Modine (Weeds) and French actress Michele Laroque, while the latter is led by David James Elliot (JAG).

Quinn's interests, however, are not limited to acting.  “I'm an avid surfer,” he told The Star Scoop. “I've surfed my whole life, so I spend a lot of time surfing, and riding motorcycles, and playing music.  That's pretty much it, if I'm not on set.”

He also supports The Jimmy Miller Foundation, an organization that uses surfing and other ocean-related activities to facilitate the healing of mental and physical illnesses.

“I've spent my summer working with a great foundation called the Jimmy Miller Foundation.  It's nice to have the time off to be able to go work with charity,” Quinn said.
