Coming from different background, each actor brings unique experiences to the table when it comes to portraying the characters given to them. In some cases, portraying a particular character may be easy because the character may be relatable or hard because the character is complex. For
Eureka’s
Colin Ferguson, who plays normal guy and county sheriff Jack Carter in the awesome community of supergeeks, he says he can totally relate to his character.
"I grew up traveling a lot. I grew up in Hong Kong. I was always in new places, so I always felt a little like I was introducing myself," Ferguson revealed to the Boston Herald. "I still use my full name when I call my brothers on the phone. I never assume that anyone remembers anything."
The new season of Eureka brings even more adventures for Ferguson’s Jack, the father of young and smart Zoe (
Jordan Hinson), whom he will try to build a good father-daughter relationship with.
"[Jack]’s making peace. He was a bad parent and he was sort of a disenfranchised sort of person," Ferguson explained. "As a person, he’s becoming much more embraced or he’s embracing the community more and sort of becoming a better parent."
Additionally, executive producer Jaime Paglia says that this season will see the relationship of Jack and Zoe really flourish more than before.
"I think that a couple episodes strayed a little bit too far away from where I think our sort of sweet spot is," Paglia explained. "So we made a concerted effort I think this season to bring us back to the lighter side of Eureka and especially restoring some of the relationships that we were missing a little bit in season two."
Catch Colin Ferguson in tonight’s episode of
Eureka, entitled “Best in Faux,” when the town will showcase their annual dog show, which might just turn into a chaotic frenzy, while Zoe worries about the effects of the accelerated physics program in her life and Allison’s wedding plans get disrupted by an earthquake.
Eureka airs at 9pm tonight on the Sci-Fi channel.
