Shane West was born on June 10, 1978 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His real name is Shannon Bruce Snaith. Upon taking a drama class in high school, he immediately developed a liking for acting and has a pursued the field since then. He starred in the television series Once and Again and appeared in several films like Liberty Heights, Whatever It Takes and Get Over It. Ultimately, he starred in the box office success A Walk to Remember opposite Mandy Moore. Presently, he is part of the television series ER where he plays Dr. Ray Barnett. Ray Barnett is a brilliant doctor struggling with his career as a musician. Previously, his band got an offer to go on tour. He wanted this opportunity so much that he pleads for some time off work. But after getting a break from work, his band cut him off thinking that he is too committed in his job as a doctor. Later, he becomes involved with Neela Rasgotra but his chances appear slim as she becomes involved with Tony Gates.
