Laura Innes was born on August 16, 1959 in Pontiac, Michigan. Aside from being an actress, she is also a director. She acquired her passion for theater from her father who taught her "to always do what you love". Eventually, she earned a degree in theater and starred in plays like A Streetcar Named Desire, Two Shakespearean Actors, Our Town, and Three Sisters. She also appeared on television as a guest on Party of Five, My So-Called Life, Brooklyn Bridge, and Wings. Moreover, she is part of the popular television series ER where she plays Dr. Kerry Weaver.
Dr. Kerry Weaver is an accomplished doctor driven by ambition and devoted to administrative policies. She moves around the controversial medical world with a crutch. She came at the County General initially as a resident and promptly became Chief Resident. After some time, she became an attending physician and then rose to Chief of Emergency Medicine and ultimately Hospital Chief of Staff.
