A couple of days or so before the theatrical release of his movie The Goods: Live Hard. Sell Hard, Entourage star Jeremy Piven says in an Early Show interview, that the character he plays on the upcoming comedy eerily resembles Ari Gold on the HBO show.
"You know what's interesting is that, I think, people that know me from playing Ari Gold will see there are similarities and know that I can handle this character," Piven said. "At the same time, this particular journey that I take, the guy starts out where he can only eat if he's in a strip club. So he's eating breakfast, and he's in a strip club. By the end of it, it's a little bit of a life lesson. You can't be a road dog forever."
In the movie, Piven plays used-car liquidator Don Ready, who is hired by a failing auto dealership to turn their Fourth of July sale into a profitable event. On HBO's
Entourage, meanwhile, he plays tough Hollywood agent Ari Gold.
There is no doubt that audiences have embraced Piven's portrayal of Ari Gold, enough to win him three Emmy's for
Entourage. As for his latest movie role, he said it's "the funniest thing" he has been part of, after appearing in 50 films or so. "I've been acting since I was in the womb," he added.
The Goods: Live Hard. Sell Hard opens August 14th.
On the last episode of
Entourage, Vince (Adrian Grenier) and Drama (Kevin Dillon) team up Mark Wahlberg and Tom Brady to play at a charity golf tournament. Turtle (Jerry Ferrara), meanwhile, had other things in mind since he's a Giants fan and all.
Ari then found himself in hot water when he refused to talk about the affair of Andrew (who left his wife for his assistant). Finally, Eric (Kevin Connolly) was surprised by a job offer from a strange person - and this storyline, despite not getting too much screen time, looks promising.
