Mark Wahlberg, the rap musician turned actor and TV/film producer whose prolificacy spawned his executively produced
Entourage, sees a pretty busy schedule this coming fall, in terms of both his career and family life. In fact, the 37-year-old father of two is expecting another child in September this year, with his wife, model Rhea Durham. As for his acting career, he is set to make a rare cameo appearance in
Entourage very soon.
"I did one other cameo in the
Entourage pilot but I didn't get to do a scene with
Jeremy Piven," Wahlberg says of the little stint. "This time it's me and Piven going at it, so it was fun."
Come October, Wahlberg will be working on a couple of action films, as well.
"I'm thrilled," Wahlberg said of the developments in his career in a recent interview with the Associated Press. "Life couldn't be better."
With two films in October, Wahlberg is gearing up for another action packed project. The first film,
Max Payne, is a crime-thriller which is based on a video game. He will also be working on
The Fighter, in which he will be playing boxer Mickey Ward and thus will be undergoing extensive training.
Most recently, Wahlberg appeared in M. Night Shyamalan’s
The Happening, and in Peter Jackson’s interpretation of the best selling novel,
The Lovely Bones, which is set to be released in 2009. Wahlberg admits that he was drawn to the
Max Payne film, which he says spoke directly to his “guy mentality.”
"This is the kind of movie I would run out to see," he says. "The kind of movies I watch are definitely guys' movies."
Additionally, Wahlberg admits that he is enthusiastic about the idea of
Aquaman hitting the big screen in real life, as it appeared in fictional form in
Entourage.
"People automatically assumed that I was going to really make that movie," Wahlberg admits. "My agent was even crazy enough to try to get Jim Cameron to direct it."
